Over time, the roster was updated to include incarcerated supervillains who could reduce their prison sentences if they went on dangerous assignments that were deemed suicide missions. Thus, Task Force X earned a new nickname: the Suicide Squad! This first collection of John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell's classic run includes stories from SUICIDE SQUAD #1-10, SECRET ORIGINS #14, DETECTIVE COMICS #582, THE FURY OF FIRESTORM #62-64, FIRESTORM: THE NUCLEAR MAN ANNUAL #5, LEGENDS #1-6, and MILLENNIUM #4.
